Particles

Particles

  • Particles are small solid or liquid parts with low mass that can be found in air or compressed air, respectively.
  • Thus, the term particle includes not only dust, but also many more contaminations in air or compressed air, respectively.

Primarily, there is a differentiation between solid particles and liquid particles.

Solid particles comprise all “solid“ parts, e.g. every kind of dust, ashes, soot, smoke as well as viruses and germs. Liquid particles are smallest liquid droplets, e.g. water (mist), oil (mist) as well as every further liquid droplet or aerosol.

Further particle categories are contained in the following chart.
